Gwendolyn Womack is the award-winning USA Today and Los Angeles Times bestselling author of The Fortune Teller, The Memory Painter, and The Time Collector, published by Picador USA. Coming next is her YA debut thriller, The Premonitions Club with CamCat Books. Gwendolyn's love for writing began at an early age, first with poetry, then with theatre plays in college at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. During that time, she went to St. Petersburg, Russia on an independent study to work with theatre companies. While living in Russia, she took up painting.
She then moved to California to pursue an MFA in Directing Theatre, Video & Cinema at California Institute of the Arts. After graduating, she lived in Los Angeles for many years, developing feature screenplays with producers and also was a Resident Director with the professional theatre company Theatre Neo. In 2009, she moved to Japan and began writing her first novel, The Memory Painter. The experience ignited her passion to becoming an author.
After moving back to the States, she sold the book to Picador in 2013, and The Memory Painter debuted in 2015. Now five books later, Gwendolyn lives in Houston, Texas with her son and their dog, Jolly. She collects and photographs kaleidoscopes and usually can be found either at the keyboard or immersed in a good book.
